I'll wait to see what wanabe suggests because I was pretty generous when applying it. I possibly used half the bottle.

Well, I took a look at my top again. Maybe it's just me, but it looks darker now. It might be possible that another application of raggtopp protectant would help it some more.

It's a protectant and not a restorer. If you're slightly faded it will help but it's not going to restore a seriously faded top.

I bought a bottle of Mothers "Back to Black" with the intentions of cleaning up the look of my Celica especially under the hood.
There is no specific statement for use on vinyl tops but there is the statement -"for use on interior and exterior vinyl and rubber"
If I were to try this product on my top. I think I'd mask off a 1" straight line above the windshield header and monitor the results over a few days or weeks before appliyng it to the entire top.
If you decide to try this stuff, let us know the results.

I'll give the raggtopp stuff another try and see what it looks like in a week. If it doesn't further improve the color of the top, I'll try back to black in a few weeks. I'll do what you suggested regarding masking a small section of the top and comparing the results over time. More pics to come.

i would do more product- or try vinylex...

then if you really need to get more black, then back to black will do it- i always use that stuff as a "last resort"- its kinda like a paint that seems to last awhile, but does come off eventually in my experience. it will make it black and new looking for awhile. i have used back to black a lot but mainly on vinyl parts on older cars- have never used it on a top (should work, but i would suggest trying a small lower part first- do it, let it dry and then make sure that it does not rub off and that you like it before doing the whole top).
if you use it, make sure you are very careful- and dont get it on other parts of the car.

again, my first choice is just about any vinyl product... and my first choice there is vinylex (although i also like 303 and raggtopp).
