the detailer is a cleaning type product and the other is a preservative type. you need both.
or vinylex or 303 are other products that do not require separate products to clean and preserve.
btw, just noticed that you mentioned seats- the above i would not use on leather...
for leather lexol (you need two separate products- cleaner and preservative), or townsends (same- you need two)

Thanks. Someone made the comment that leather products could be used on vinyl but not vice versa. Is there a single product that would work on both assuming everything is new at least at this point and doesn't really require cleaning? Or am I just looking to get out too easy.
imo, short cuts are not a good idea if you want to protect your "investment"...
i always get the best quality products that i can find to keep my car looking new always (this one is 5 years old and looks at least as good as the day i picked it up).
