So is it safer to use the waterless wash sprays over the quick detailers? Aren't these "waterless wash" sprays meant to be used on a lightly soiled car?

This works really well. Read the desciption and see if it's for you.

Or this (my fave): http://www.autogeek....sh-and-wax.html

Do a search on the detailing sites. There's a ton of stuff that will help you.

I picked up some Griot's Spray-On car wash and I'm pretty impressed how it cleaned off 3-4 days of Phoenix's dusty air deposits.

I don't think I'll do this every night, so I'll see how once a week works.

One thing is certain: the 3 plush towels that come with Griot's "Kit" are not enough to safely wipe down the S with clean edges each time. I had to do one half the car one night, wash and dry the towels, and get the rest of the car the next night. By that time, a new layer of dust was on the car.

It didn't help that I had to drive out to a rural airport 4 days this week.

I'm going to hook up my spot-less rinse tanks for the next wash.

Adam, I would like your opinion on my paint condition and recommendations for moving forward. Let me know when we can get together.

Yes they are. Three towels should be more than plenty to do the entire car. You car is way to dirty to be wiping down with quick detailer if you have three soiled towels by the time you are done.

You also should not be using your towels that you touch your cars paint with on your wheels. Brake dust is not good for the paint, hell I don't even launder my towels that touch paint with the ones that don't.

The towels did not seem to pick up much dust. I was being really conservative and wanted a "clean" edge for each wipe. I will not wash wheel towels with paint towels or glass towels, either. I used separate towels for Waterless washing and separate towels for the wheels. I don't even wash the car by the bucket method with the same towels or wash mit. Wheel washing is separate from car washing in my methods.

In fact, I'm still working on getting fresh road tar off of my wheels, and I'm just throwing those towels out. I'm going to have to remove each wheel to clean the inside barrel. Does anyone have experience with Stonner's Tarminator?

Yes, Adam gave me a can of that stuff. It's awesome, but be very careful it will eat everything on the wheel including your glue strips on your wheel weights. Avoid spraying it directly on them, and wipe off any that gets onto the weights.

I guess I'm here to make your cars look good. I seem to wash every 1000 miles...

Thanks for the tip, Feezy. TurtleWax Bug and Tar remover got some of it, but there is a lot left. I worry about the wheel's finish. Will that be OK with Tarminator?

I use Tarminator on the front fenders right under the S2000 logo, on the front bumper and along the bottom of the car. Works wonders, saves a lot of work and didn't damage my paint. I don't see any problem using it on wheels just follow the instructions. You may have to apply more than once.

I'm trying the Griot's Spray On Wash and seem to have good results after two "washes" in about a week and half, almost 2 weeks. The dusty environment of the Arizona desert is constantly annoying.
