Default stained windshield?

I bought my car in January and noticed about a week or two after I picked it up that there was a run on the windshield...i figured the cleaning guys probably just streaked a spot. But NO!! Apparently there are 3 spots where a bird dumped on the car and the sh*t just sat there and got baked in with UV and now I have a blob which goes into a run from top to bottom in three spots, which is annoying at night and in the rain. Any suggestions on removing this if at all? It's right in my line of sight as I'm driving.

See this article:

They recommend Autoglym Glass Polish:

If it's as bad as it sounds you'll probably need a machine (drill or orbital buffer) and some elbow grease to polish away the stain.

good stuff...
as flitcroft indicates, a machine might be needed for this-
give it a try by hand first. you really have to work the polish. its not a apply and remove sorta product. its an apply, work the product and remove sorta product!
