Thumbs down Summer 2009 BB HUGE DETAIL, 5/11

Here is my product list (Using a Porter Cable RO)

Menzerna Intensive Polish PO91 E (Orange pad, then maybe follow up with Green Pad)
Menzerna Final Finish PO85RD (Just green Pad)
Menzerna FMJ Paint Sealant (Blue or black pad?)
Lusso Oro Carnuba Wax (black pad)

The question I have is do the PAD combos I have listed above seem ok?

I dunno why, but I didnt order any white pads, so I have 4 of each

ORANGE, GREEN, BLUE, BLACK

What should I use for each product and should I use one pad with a product then use the same product with a less aggressive pad?

Thanks guys, going to start Monday morning at 6am, also my wheels will be here too
OH what a day

gotta give us some idea of how bad the swirls are-

as long as you are doing that- which brand of pads are you using?

you dont have to apply the fmj by machine- i like to, but lotsa guys think its a product waster. i like it cause you can control the amount of product pretty easily- the right amount will barely show on the paint.
same with the lusso-
both are "no cut" pads if you go with the machine.

l love to "hand rub" lusso oro. to do that, you knock the wax outta the container into one hand and then rub it all over your palms and fingers- i have done small cars with this process and motorcycles. never a large car or van, but someone here prob has. of course, first remove rings, watches bracelets, etc.

The Pads are from DetailersDomain, the "uber pads" I believe (there brand I guess) The swirls are horrific and paint looks very dull

yo Joey,

you might want to skip orange + intensive polish and just use green.

try it on a section first see if you can get by with green pad + intensive. it's gona save you a good 2 ~4 hours.

here's my thread on what i just recently did.

hello Joey,

assuming you got the uber pads, use black for sealants/wax !

also if you can break it out to two days, it's going to be less of a strain!

have fun!

That's good advice. Don't kill yourself trying to do it all in one day if you don't have to.

I think the Synthetic sealant should cure for 12 hrs or something first any way before you apply the caranuba. I have some Lusso I wanna try as well, I always have used Pinnacle Souvern . I am curious about your reviews when you are finished. Good luck, remember beer is your friend after wards.

like others have said don't use the orange pad if you don't need it. Green + SIP should probably be good enough. When I did my last car all I used was Green + SIP, then blue with the finishing polish, finished by applying lusso oro. The results were great and probably removed 99% of swirls.
