Swirls coming back?
So. I used Sonus SFX-1 through SFX-3, a coat of ZAIO, Two coats of Meguiars Gold Class liquid wax, and then a coat of P21S wax on top last week, and my swirls were Almost All virtually gone. I washed my car today (More like rinsed) at a car wash (Yea... I know... but I was just using the light spray to spray off the dust, and was using a quick detailer afterwards) and I realized I forgot my QD at home, and I heard good things a bout the Meguiars Ultimate Quick Detailer (I only had the regular quick detailer, and mothers Showtime quick detailer at the time). So I make a run to a few autoparts stores trying to find UQD, and Finally get it, and start applying it to my car in the parking lot, and I notice atleast 1/2 my swirl marks are back.....
Is this normal??? When I finished the first time, they were all virtually gone, except a few little ones I was planning on going back and getting when I got my Yellow and Orange CSS pads (Which I get tomorrow
)
Did I maybe do something wrong the first time? Any tips for my second time around. The first time I used my White CSS pads for the Sonus, and then used the blue + grey for the Waxes.
I really don't know what happened. Anyone have any ideas? Kinda makes me sad cause I spent 5 hours working on my damn hood to get the swirls out, and now they are back.
TIA

I don't see how just spraying it would bring back the swirrils, as long as you didn't hold the sprayer directly against your paint. What kind of a cloth did you use to apply the quick detailer. Maybe you had some fine dirt on the towel, or you rubbed too hard.
I get this same problem but its usually after I wash by hand. I dont have a PC, and maybe using one will help seal better. Hopefully someone wiser will chime in to help.

You drove around to a few stores, your car was all dusty by the time you started rubbing it with QD. That's your first problem.
Your second problem might be your drying technique. What kind of towels are you using? The best detail job in the world is all for not if you're using terry towels and old T-shirts to remove wax and dry the car.
When you applied all those products the first time you used a PC right?
EDIT: Nevermind on that last question, I found your old post, looks like you used the UDM for application of all your products.

lotsa good ideas above...
i would first check out your rags- what did you use to dry the car with and what did you use with your q.d.??
q.d.s are fine as long as you dust off the car first- (its not a wipe the car down, but a flick the dust off with the tips of the duster type process)

GranPrix,
You forgot to mention that looking at the car will give you swirls
.
Jaeden,
Can you tell if these are new swirls or old? Point being that it is possible that you could've sprayed the car down with car wash chemicals and removed your carnauba protection thereby revealing your old swirl marks. Or it could be like others have suggested above, and you have created new swirls by improper washing/drying/quick detailing.
Quick detailing is meant to be used for cleaning light dust off the car, that's the point of it. But then again, Hondas have soft paint, so be wary of when you choose to use QD, and be careful while you're doing it. Using high quality products will aid in the prevention of swirls, but technique also plays a part in the whole process.
As GranPrix suggested, try ever so hard to get good washing and drying techniques down as it will reduce immensely the amount of time spent during each full detail.
