Switch to Zaino?

Old marketing verbage... Paint is not "alive" and doesn't need to be fed or nourished. Any product you use won't even make it to the actual paint unless your clear coat is gone.
If your finish is dull it is oxidized. The oils in most products only mask oxidation for a short time.

so flit croft, you've ONLY used Meguiar's Gold Class Wax and clay bar, no polishing.
Does your car still look like that after you've waxed it?
Also, 6 coats at a time? Do subsequent coats have a cummulative effect on the depth of the shine? I only use two coats usually.
How long does it stay looking that great?

Two coats at a time. Gold Class builds up easily (it's not a great choice because it can build up unevenly and visibly in some areas, like around the windshield washer jets) but that's what I had on hand.
My car didn't need polishing at that point so just clay bar and waxing. Subsequent coats are not too noticeable. Exacting people like me like to have around five coats of wax on the car at once. I usually wax every Sunday so it's not too hard to maintain that much product on the surface.
With frequent washing and a coat of wax a week (or optionally detail spray after your wash and waxing every other week) your car will look like that for around a year. After a while the swirl marks will build up and you'll have to polish the finish to even the clearcoat to the lowest level of the swirls to make it the whole thing smooth again.

Yes, that's after the wax. My car looks much glassier right now with NXT, and I think Zaino was even more mirror like after 10 coats.

Here we go again.
Folks, what are you doing that takes all day to apply Zaino? I apply/remove two coats in maybe 1-1/2 to two hours, taking my time. I use about 1/2 ounce (sometimes slightly more, sometimes slightly less) to do both coats. So, my bottle of Z5 or Z2 lasts 16 applications of two to three coats. Expensive? Maybe if the other products have similar application coverage.
If you are saying it takes all day because you are including wash time, clay bar, vacuuming, treating the leather, walking the dog, going out to dinner, then, well, okay. I guess there is something about Zaino (the nice odor?) that makes you want to spend time with the car and do a good job...
I know other products work great, too, and I don't doubt that some of them apply as easily and maybe outperform Zaino. That's fine. But unless you are using the *old* Z1 prep method in high humidity area, the idea that you need to spend all day is just wrong and giving those without any Zaino experience misinformation.

flitcroft, Your car looks great with the Gold Class but I have one area of disagreement with layering it. Gold Class is loaded with solvents. It won't layer. You are simply cleaning the paint over and over again.
