Default IS there a wax worth a whateverthehell?

Sorry for the long dissertation!

Spent a day last week cleaning the paint (clay, hd-cleans, no polish needed) and laying down some wax. I have used Zymol (carbon) in the past and tried NXT2.0 for the hell of it and I am NOT getting the length of protection I would like from either. I cannoned the S this morning with DP xtreme, rinsed and the beading is, well, disappointing. The question at hand is, what is a durable long lasting wax that is actually worth the hype?

Two things:

1. You're using two products notorious for short life span. NXT (from what I've read) doesn't last too long and Zymol Carbon doesn't last too long either. IME/IMO if it says Zymol on the label and it's blue then it's not worth the money. The Zymol Estate Glaze line up is much more durable IME/IMO. Glasur is a popular Zymol EG that's on the more affordable side.

2. You live in Tampa where it can get pretty hot. No carnauba wax is going to last a long, long time in a hot environment. I would re-apply every 4-6 weeks if I lived where you do. No need to HD-Cleanse before every application BTW. If you do that you're actually removing whatever wax is on there.

Thanks Mike!

The NTX was a hopeful pipe dream and the clay/hd is not within the regular routine although nothing has been regular as far as S the past couple of months Last week was more pre-prep for a detail for the Honda St. Pete Grand Prix which this crew participates in the parade and vip lap. I guess what I am looking for is just a very good wax that is worth the dollars. Not being a pin head but I am willing to spend the $ “IF” the wax is worth it...

Glasur is a very nice wax

You could get some collinite 845, which beads up nice, even after some snow.
It will last months, not weeks, and is very affordable, and very durable.

!YES!

Again if it is worth it! Throw me some recommendations! The S goes in the shop Thursday and Friday and detailed Saturday before being decaled for the HSPGP.

May I also add in the idea of using a good synthetic quick detailer after your maintenance washes. You'll easily see your protection length double if you do so.
Great online solutions include Dodo Juice Red Mist Tropical, FK 425, Zaino Z8, and others
Over the counter: Meguiar's Ultimate Quick Detailer or even Meguiar's Ultimate Quick Wax.

Seconded on using a nice QD-type product in-between. Duragloss Aquawax is my personal favorite. It leaves an incredible gloss and some nice protection, and is dead easy to use. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

A great idea. You can refresh your protection by QD'ing your car after a wash with a QD that has either wax or synthetic in it.

Also, Elroy you keep saying "if it's worth it" well what makes a wax "worth it" in your opinion? Personally, I've spent hundreds of dollars on a single tub of wax and it was worth it to me. However, I've seen many other detailing enthusiasts call the same wax overpriced or a waste of money. It's all perspective.

EXCELENT point and well taken!
