Default time to wait after new paint?

Just got some fresh paint on one area, and I searched around here and the general recommendation is to wait 3 months before waxing it...

However, I'm going back to school Sept. 2, and I'd like to do it before then.

So the real question is, what's worse, only letting it cure for ~2 months (hot weather), or not waxing it for the 2+hr trip to school (in downtown DC)?

easy - get a polymer, you can apply a week after repaint . . .

wait on the waxing though . . .

this is a myth.... they buff a car the next day after paint... i mean come on... wait a week or two then have at it... you shouldnt need a wax that soon tho... the buffing compound they use should suffice for a while
