Default Used the Leaf Blower Tonight, Less Than Impressed

After seeing various threads on how to dry the S2000, I decided to try the California Wipe and leaf blower tonight. The California Car Wipe worked pretty well, but the sensuous curves of the S make using the CW somewhat challenging.

I then used an electric leaf blower (90mph wind) to dry. It was OK, but I felt like I was chasing the same water beads for 45 minutes. FINALLY I finished drying only to find small water beads that I had to dry by hand. Since I waited until late this evening to wash her, I'll have to do an inspection tomorrow morning to see what I've missed.

I'm not sure about this leaf blower thing. Anybody else trying this? What are you experiencing?

I've never used the leaf blower technique but always thought of it to be a bit eccentric and I for one could never be in the neighborhood using a leaf blower to dry the car!

I use the Absorber and love the way it works. I also recently borrowed w1ngman's Water Blade and was'nt as impressed as I had thought I would be. You are correct, the curves make it difficult to use the Water Blade.

I usually take about 5 minutes to hit mine with the leaf blower so that it gets 95+% of the water off. I then can dry off what's left withan 18"x18" microfiber towel and still have dryspots on the towel. Don't try and get every drop off or you will drive yourself nuts.

why don't you just take the car for a spirited drive after washing, nothing like some VTEC to help dry off a car quickly.

I don't know if this was meant to be a joke; but, if you do this, you will have a load of dirt attaching to the droplets of water on the car and this won't be good.

I tried this earlier in the week when I couldn't find my leaf blower and it left water spots all over the hood. Unless you live where you can wash your car and immeditaley get the car up to 85+ the water on the hood and trunk doesn't have a chance to blow off before it dries. After using the leaf blower and my micro fibre I usually take it for a good cruise to dry the top if it gets real wet. Pretty much the only time driven top up.

I've tried a bunch of stuff, including the California Wipe. But I always come back to the Absorber. I think its the best out there.....
