Default Wash mits: Microfiber or Lambswool?

Lambswool is almost twice as much, however thats not my concern.

I've heard nothing bad about MF mits, but I'm just curious on, if I'm washing the car, which mit is better? Lambswool (brown, REALLY soft), or microfiber?

I started using MF .. works okay.. less particles to get trapped and cause swirls.. but it feels like a wearing a boxing glove as the water makes it heavy.. the "heavier"
feel detracts aways from applying enough pressure in wiping IMO.. I have found i feel I clean better with the lambswool over the MF

I like the lambswool too.

Microfiber for towels - wool for the mitts. (at least for the time being)

and very good article that concludes that mf is good for everything except mitts- see the "biggest losers" section:

I have a MF washmitt and I don't really like it at all. In fact, I do not even use it to wash my car anymore (I used it about 3 times). I prefer a quality Sheepskin mitt. I bought mine at the Autopia store. I prefer this over all the mitts I have used.

At $8.95 it's a great value when you see it priced at $12.95-$15.95 elsewhere online. I do not trust the Sheepskin you can find at Kragen or Pepboys.

In fact there are a lot of great car washingdrying accesories for a great price there:

MF for towels.
Sheepskin for mitts.

I got a horsehair brush from Griot's for my birthday in April, and was skeptical, so i used it on my Subaru first - it worked great, fast and got at hard to get spots, and I used it on the S2000 with no problems.

I have both a lambswool and a MF, and I think they are all good - depends on what you are cleaning. For example, the brush is great to get at grills, wiper blades/arms, or luggage racks.
