You could try 3m Wax and adhesive remover but I haven't used it on trim before but it does work well on other surfaces. For trim I used Griot's Paint Prep a few weekends ago to remove some over two year old wax on some black plastic of my Porsche that was left by the previous owner that I could never get off. they have also just released Old Wax Remover for this purpose though I haven't needed it since I still have a ton of Paint Prep left and Klasse doesn't stain trim.

You could also just try some more wax to soften the old stuff and wipe it off quickly.

Try peanut butter. (Creamy). The oils will disolve the wax on the plastic.
Put a little dab on a rag or your finger and rub it all over the wax stain. Let it sit for a minute or two and wipe off. Make sure you put a plastic protector on it after. I like Einszett Tiefenpfleger
This will also remove wax stains.

Will chunky work too ...

or, if you just went and bought Zaino, you could do the dawn step before you first applied it. Now I never had any wax on my trim, but that dishwashing soap pull ALL the wax off my car...the paint did not feel smooth AT ALL. So I would assume it could pull it off the plastic as well?

Klasse AIO should get it off. I have been successful in using 303 convertible top cleaner to remove wax from plastic parts on other cars.

I agree with nivek2002 us a wax that does no stain trim. O likee poorboy's EX-P or Wolfgang instead of zaino (my reasons are ease of use and shine vs durabilty)
