Waxing Bumpers

Default Waxing Bumpers

Are you supposed to wax the bumpers since it is not metal like other body panels??? Just wondering b/c wax said not to use on plastic/rubber. The bumper is not this is it??? I know this question is just dumb but juss wanna make sure. Thks

The wax is for "painted" surfaces. You don't wax plastic or rubber if it's not painted. Doing so will leave a hard to remove residue. If plastic or rubber is painted, go ahead and wax it.

Yes, wax the bumpers and the wheels as though it was just regular car paint.

just dont wax the gray trim around the exhaust tips...it will be a major PITA to get off!

I've found something that works a little bit better than wax. If you notice, on the painted plastic surfaces, the paint is much softer and swirls easier. To prevent this, I use the plastic cleaner that I use on my back window, headlamps, and tail lamps on the front and rear bumpers. Then I use the Eagle1 spray on plastic polisher and voila, no worries about residue being left on the black rubber parts as it shines both the painted plastic AND the rubber. Also, I noticed that the plastic polish spray repels dust better and is less prone to swirling on application.
