I'm not sure... I have it all over my S too. But not as badly, I'm thinking road filth? What year is your Civic? and how are the roads there?

If it doesn't clean off, I THINK what you're seeing is the beginnings of clearcoat failure combined with minor road chips and scratches.

Someone else can chime in but that sort of cracking in a little crow's foot pattern is typical of early clearcoat failure.

Wow...I cant even say. I have never seen a paint defect like that. IMHO, thats not a paint defect. Cracked clearcoat looks nothing like that.

I looks like you were following something, that threw off something nasty, and it hit your car....might have not looked big, but with paint, big things come in small packages.

well i mean if it's clearcoat failure , then should it be more over the other place of my car also ? this only happened on the front hood area and the front bumper

Ihave the same thing on my 97 civic. It is only in the area that has been under a front end bra for 4 years though (I just bought it used). It is some type of paint failure... maybe from the heat of the engine. Clearcoat usually starts out as a hazy spot and then starts to peel or split. It usually doesn't affect the paint below. These cracks are cracks all the way to the metal (at least on my car)
