What to do about pitted glass?
pics?
if not horrible, i would use a glass polish and a porter cable. go easy with this combo and check the work often (do very small sections).

glass polishes are meant for small scratches, water spots, etch- not really for pitts, but i have found that a polish can smooth the edges of pitts and make them less noticeable. if badly etched or pitted, replacement might be the best choice. imo, worth trying a polish first.
another good article (glass in general):

The pitting is so light it won't show up in pics, but in the right light (usually sunrise or sunset) it becomes more apparent.

if you're in a state like AZ, pray someone throws a big rock up at your window and cracks it enough to get it replaced for free!
i've done that once already on my baby.
