Agree with that. I think it uses citrus extracts or something like that so it's tough but gentle at the same time.

 

adams polishes all purpose cleaner is awesome for that.

 

I think the "Gunk" products are great for under the hood cleaning. Gunk engine degreaser followed by CD2 is tough to beat for my money. The best thing is that you can pick these up at your local stores.

 

my engine is pretty clean except that there are some places where it has pollen/dust. So I figured I could use a gentle cleaner and just spray it on and hose it off.

 

Any type of citrus or APC diluted 50/50 will work. I have used Simple Green diluted before with good results. It all depends on how dirty the engine bay is. Use a soft bristle brush and some car soap to agitate the dirtier areas, make sure you cover important parts like the alternator, battery, and exposed electrical stuff.
