Wheel Paint durability
I recently had my wheels repainted/powdercoated where the Primer was supposedly powder coated, the color was sprayed, and then the clear was suppose to be powder coated as well.
If the shop actually did it that way should I have been able to do the following simply with a fine clay bar and then rubbing with my thumb and microfiber cloth ?
I was cleaning rough spots on the wheels and one of the areas looked dirty when after rubbing it turned to primer
The spaces between the spokes all seem a little rough almost like a grain feel as opposed to the gloss feel of the wheel face.
I could see if I had sand paper or something but how the hell would I be able to get to primer? Its almost like they didnt put any clear coat on or rushed the job ?

Now I have to go back again

how much did the job cost all together? seems like they were supposed to do a quality job and didn't. please let us know - i know i plan on getting my wheels done in black/semi
The nice thing is that they mount and balance since they are a wheel repair company that also does painting.
I think I probably should have gone total powder coating and used a shop that solely specializes in that stuff.
If you do yours make sure you do powdercoating, don't have the color sprayed.
Also, I know with most shops you'll have to take your tires elsewhere to get them mounted and balanced.
Lesson learned..
