white residue on edge of plastic window
Hi, I bought an 01 s2000 almost a year ago, and in my zeal to keep it looking good without first researching the topic, I used a plexiglass cleaner/protectant available at Autozone on the rear window. It cleaned it well but left a white residue in the seam between the window and the black top. I have absolutely no clue how to get this off because it is in between the top and the window. I'm afraid the window will have to be removed. Any ideas or help? Thanks
you do NOT want to remove that window... its a pia- you have to take apart the rear of the top according to the shop manual.
not sure that i understand where the residue is, but if its not too close to the window, you can use a soft brush. dont use a brush on the window.
maybe some 303 or vinylex too.
then do that window with plexus.

I was cleaning the window on the inside, and I wasn't careful, and the white cleaner actually got pulled into (capillary action?) where the plastic meets the vinyl. On the outside, where the plastic and vinyl meet, the plastic is on top, so the residue is unreachable from the outside. On the inside, the vinyl is on top on the seam. I was thinking maybe there was some chemical one could put on the seam on the inside which would soak through through it and dissolve or pull out the residue or maybe I am speaking out of my a**.
