Why the personal attack? I just saw this thread and wanted to read about your experience and I see this? Since you attacked me publicly I guess I'll respond publicly. After this, please use PMs if you have something to say to me.

I assume you are referring to the thread I started titled "My take on NXT vs. Zaino" in which I reviewed both products and wrote my opinion. I wrote that Zaino is "expensive ($70+ to get started)" and NXT is "cheap! cheap! cheap! (<$15)". Let's see if I exaggerated prices. Zaino's store lists its Zaino Bros' Total Protection Show Car Kit for $84.70 (link). This kit includes Z-7 wash ($7.95), Z-18 clay bar ($16.95), and two "free" applicators. Let's say you already have those so you save a few bucks (now at $59.80) but have to pay the flat rate $8.95. So your modified total (remember, this includes the bundle prices but gives Zaino the benefit of the doubt) is $68.75. When I ordered the non-bundle version of the required products my total after shipping was $74.70. When I wrote the aforementioned post, NXT was selling for $13.45, but is now $14.95 again at Autopia (link). NXT is $13.49 at my local Target store and I don't have to pay shipping.

My other statement on that thread was this: "40x better? Zaino takes 10 coats to hit maximum glossiness and still costs 4x as much (although you do use less per coat)." So, from the above we can see Zaino costs 4x as much for the initial system. That was my point. Zaino also takes several coats to acheive its famous plasticy shine. In my case I used 10+ coats of Zaino on my car to compare its reflection to NXT. My math is based on a guesstimate that 10 coats times 4x the cost equals 40x as much. But then note that I qualified the statement with "(although you do use less [Zaino] per coat)". What's the problem here? Would you like me to grab a pipette and count the picoliters of product I use when I wax my car?

I found a product I like and I told people about it. I like NXT more than Zaino. That was the whole point of the thread. I've tried three products on my S 2000 now: Meguiar's Gold Class, Zaino, and Meguiar's NXT Tech Wax. I like them in order of last to first. I posted my thoughts to let others read about my experiences and I hope that you and other members do the same.

So, again, when did I exaggerate prices? Do you want a copy of my Zaino receipt? No hard feelings here, but this just reeked of a third grade girls talking behind ones back. Let's just be friends and enjoy the nice weather and our shiny sports cars!

flitcroft,

Sorry you feel attacked but you are exaggerating to prove your point.

Okay, I'll play this game. Here's my take on it.

This is all you need to apply Zaino.
Zaino Z1+Z2+Z5+shipping = $43.80

BTW, you deducted some money out of the package price for the clay bar and Z7 wash but left the $12.95 Z6 spray in your price. I'm sure that it was an oversight and not an attempt at getting the price of Zaino up to prove your point.

There are local distributors so I'm deducting $8.95 on shipping = $34.85

Don't forget to add sales tax on your NXT. It tried to give my Target $14.95 but they insisted I pay sales tax too. = $15.96 (Kali's even worse)

Zaino uses less per coat (your own admission). It took me 3 oz. of NXT on my wife's G35, Zaino only 1 oz.

I think one coat of each Zaino product looks better than one coat of NXT. I'd like to layer NXT and run the cost up like you did to Zaino but NXT isn't layerable... DOH

1 oz of each Zaino product at $34.85= $4.36 (8 oz bottles)

3oz. of $15.96 = $2.66 (18 oz bottle)

Damn this isn't working out like I hoped.

Oh I forgot. NXT lasts for 2 months. Zaino 6 months.

6 NXT applications a year at $2.66 = $15.96

2 Zaino applications a year at $4.36 = $8.72

Damn... Zaino is much cheaper.

I just bought the Wolfgang Pre-wax polish and Deep Gloss Paint Sealant. My question is what, if any, kind of prep should I do before using this for the first time? Thanks!

I just went to Sabo camping here in Columbus to replenish my QEW stock and they were closing it out for a bottle. Of course I bought all 8 bottles. At 1-2 capfuls a gallon i think i'm covered to the year 2312. Anyone want samples of QEW?
What is QEW?

At a minimum you should clay bar the whole car. Better yet, you should polish your car to showroom-like finish.

QEW = Protect All's Quick and Easy Wash. It's a hose-less washing method that has gotten good reviews.

Thanks for the tip, we just got the car detailed, compounded and clay bar - I'm just looking to keep the shine up with the Wolfgang.

Getting the perfect shine is mostly in the prep work. LSP's add very little to the equation.

Okay, sorry to sound like an idiot, but what's an "LSP"?

Could I get a sample of QEW?

So do you polish the car after the claybar?

Thanks for the info.

LSP = Last Stage Product = Wax or Synthetic

You can get a sample of QEW from me. Just remind me before you show up at our next meet.

Yes, claybar before the polish.
