Easterner coming to San Diego in Feb...
OK, my +1 and I are flying into SAN on Thurs 2/14 to spend the long weekend with friends (recent transplants from Philly). Obviously, the GPW will be under cover back in the frigid Northeast.....so we'll have some sort of rental to We expect to rendez-vous with our good friend Patty [Kyras] over the 2/16-2/17 weekend sometime, along with that other Jerry [Spokes Man] ...and maybe meet a few more of you in da area?
MY REAL QUESTION:
My +1 is flying back east on Mon 2/18 but I am staying for another week until return on Mon 2/25. WHAT things could I do for the 4-5 days available for touring and ???? (I have to be back in SD by Sat night before 2/18 am flight)
*I might HQ in SD and take day trips
*I COULD drive N along the coast, but is that portion of coast worthwhile....any nice beaches, state parks, historic stuff?
*I have also considered driving to Phoenix to visit a good friend in Scottsdale...but that's a lot of driving, right?

Everybody's coming over here soon.
Someone else posted up a thread and asked about it. There are some suggestions in this thread you can look at. Any more specific questions feel free to ask. I'll try to answer some more on my next break.

*In mid-February, would it be a good time to explore the desert areas to the east of San Diego....Anzo Borrego etc?
*Are there any car-centered things to see/do in the San Diego area: Museums, race tracks, funny drive-ins, etc?

Jerry. YES! I think mid Feb is great time to go to the desert. It won't be hot and if we get some sun to go with the rain we are getting now, maybe they'll be some green stuff on the ground. In Anza Borrego there's a place called Palm Canyon, I think. I used to love walking up that. It's a little stream and it's refreshing in the warmer months.

I'm here....enjoying the weather. Have seen lots of Porsches but not yet a single S2000. Went to the Zoo yesterday and to the Coronado this morning...followed by afternoo at La Jolla. Hey, the traffic from I-5 into that town SUCKS big time....
I guess all the stook drivers keep 'em in the garage.....

Jerry, when we are in Orange County next Saturday, I'll be surprised if you don't see some Ss. I usually do when I'm down there. And I'll have my Odyssey, so that pretty much is a guarantee that I'll see S2000s.
