Then they will call BS on your story because they will ask.

"Why in the f**k did you go comvertable in the cold?"

Maybe that is how I would of said it if I was the agent

Comprehensive doesn't cover wear and tear since that opens up a much larger risk. Think about it for a moment, if comprehensive covers wear and tear, then you can start claiming tire blowouts, engine failures, and so on. The same logic applies to rear plastic windows. In order for this claim to be covered, something would need to have dropped on the rear plastic window for it to break, or if it was vandalized.
Windows don't just crack because they wear out. The OP said it froze over and cracked.. The original post left that out. So that should be covered under warranty. But that's what I was getting at. I know tires and stuff aren't covered.

then call your damn agent, and tell us what he says

but standard policies do not cover classic wear and tear issues, plain and simple. if you can get them to pay based on a weather related incident, that is different. but good luck hope rates don't go up either

If you live in Southern California and tell your insurance carrier that your plastic glass broke due to the weather, they will call your bluff and probably send your claim to SIU (Special Investigations Unit). Not only that, they will call Honda and ask for the specifications of the plastic window, and determine what temperature will the plastic window become brittle and break. In any case, I would just pay this out of pocket, and pick up a new or used soft top with a glass window.

I work in the insurance buisness, Open Claims Rep to be exact

Okay. How my company deals with any type of automotive glass/window only, claims, that has been tampered/cracks/breaks etc etc, WILL follow under Comprehensive regardless of what happened. Anything comp related will not affect your premium in any way shape for from.

You could even just sit there and throw rocks @ your window until it cracks, and it'll still follow under comp. But of course that is not a good idea haha

I also work work in insurance, as a Auto Field Adjuster, and it just depends on the kind of endorsements have on their policy and what exclusions are named on their policy.
of course. So true so true :

I do know of some people off the top of my hand though, that has had this sitatuion where the soft top has cracked due to weather.

i can't recall what was the outcome of these cases were, but it will be filed under Comprehensive until other wise noted by the MD adjuster untl it gets in there hands. No collision involved, nor even wear and tear can come in. Someone can buy a brand new plastic soft top from the dealer, let it sit for 40 degress outside for one night, put the top down, and please believe that it will still crack. Let us know. Im actually anxious to find out haha
