Stopping cars for emissions on the street?
Did I see what I think I saw today??? Reminded me of sobriety check points. First time through I saw a Ford Probe. Then I came back a few minutes later and snapped these pics of the SUV. I didn't want it to seem like I was staking out the place so I left. My only idea is that it was random emissions testing. There was CHP and county police there as well.
By the way, this was on University Ave. in La Mesa a few blocks from Baltimore Ave.

I remember that one day when they blocked off one end of the Coronado bridge for four hours to check all the cars with mods. Even if you had a CARB E.O. sticker you still got a ticket and had to go see a referee.

I guess everybody will have to get a Hyundia for their daily drivers
Sorry all you are having to deal with all this Nazi stuff.

A few months back there was a checkpoint set up on palomar airport rd in carlsbad about a block from whereI live...at 10 am in the morning. I never really figured out what it was for.

I wonder if they give you a printout of the smog inspection? Because if they do, that'd be a nice way to get out of paying $50 for a station inspection on your car when registration is due.
