Default Tires

I need to get some new tires so I can go on the Desert Run, not to mention I have some flat spotting so my car wobbles all over the place.

I went to some places today, and everyone tried to screw me, like I didn't know what I was talking about, or they looked shady, and I didn't trust them to do the job right.

I saw there were some people on the board that worked at some tire places.

I am not looking for a major hookup on price, just looking for a "fair" price, an alignment and mounting / balancing done right.

Can anyone help me out?

Ps: I know I haven't met anyone in the SD community yet, because I just moved from LA to SD about 2 weeks ago, but I plan to hitup Fusion probably this week. I'm also going on the Desert Run, and Spugen.. So I am a fellow enthusiast.

Damn, I actually went to Discount Tire in Grossmont, and got my tires there. They had to special order them but I got a good deal. I will just need to get an alignment now.

I think I am going to go to Clarence Brown's since everyone recommends him.

If you want the best deal?

Make them price match tirerack. They all do. You can go to any tire place and tell them you want the tires for that price. From there, just pick the place you feel most confident with them doing the job correctly.

Yeah, I always do that. Funny thing though, I went to Firestone, because I wanted to get some ZRi's and asked if they would match TireRack. They said they would not. So I told them I'll go to another Firestone. They then told me that it was company policy to not match TireRack anymore (This must be new, because I got some new rears in LA at a Firestone and they had no problem matching TireRack). They wanted $180 each for 245/45/16's. I got them last year for like $85 a piece.. I was in shock when they told me the price. I even pulled up on my laptop in front of them showing them the price at TireRack which was less then half that. There response was:

"Oil prices have gone up" WTF!!!!!! ahahhaha.. All I can say, is I will never buy from Firestone again and will discourage everyone I know from purchasing tires from them.

I ended up going to Discount Tires, they matched TireRack, and my new Kumho MX's arrived today..

I just need to get them put on, and then get an alignment and I will be ready for next weekends Desert Run.
