Turbo setup in SD
im tryin to figure out what single exhaust to get for my future turbo set up. i know its gonna be louder than my HKS dual but i dont want anything like to get me pulled over from a mile away from have a too loud exhaust ya know? i heard some of the exhaust in the S2klibrary but was wonderin if they had other samples
I recommend you take it one step at a time. First purchase the turbo kit and buy anymore necessary parts to complete the kit if it's not already complete. Second install the turbo kit and make sure everything is up and running without any leaks. Third, make sure you get it tuned. This is when you should worry about what exhaust to use.
I seriously think most of your turbo questions should be asked under the forced induction forums. Not only will your get the best possible answers for your turbo project, you will most likely answer all you own questions by simply reading old threads that discusses turbo installs, exhausts for turbos, dyno graph, tuning, turbo efficiency, and the best turbo to use for you driving habits.
I personally would use a mufflerless 3' pipe from the turbo to the back of the car and weld in a resonator and be done with it.
Remember that turbo acts like a resonator it's self. If you where to put turbo kit on with your HKS exhaust right now, it will most likely be quieter throughout the whole rpms. If you want the turbo spooling sound, which you most likely would, you would then vent you dump tube (wastegate pipe) into the atmosphere instead of rerouting it back into the exhaust. This will help is less back pressure, thus more power and a wicked jet like sound. Good luck.....
