Default Can anyone tell me where these two straps go to?

Hi All, I am a newbie here and I recently purchased a 2002 S2K. This car is amazing, but the other day when I was putting the top up I noticed two straps in each corner of the roof racks and I was wondering if anyone can tell me where the goto? I have attached this picture to help. Can anyone tell me where they goto?

Are they elastic? If so then they pull back the bar while you lower your top.

^^Like he said, if they are elastic, they are just meant to help the soft top close properly.

These often times wear out on older soft tops. When these wear out, you will notice that the soft top doesn't close as tightly and as low as it should. You can buy replacement straps for $20 from Modifry.

No. They aren't the elastic straps. They are made of the same material as the seat belts I think.

Hmm, I'm not sure then. The only straps I know of are the elastic ones to help the roof close properly. Before I switched mine they weren't "elasticy" any more, they did feel like seat belts almost, but if you're sure they aren't and weren't elastic at some point, then I am not sure

Those two straps are for holding down the rear-most bow. The last of the three bows is spring loaded and will snap forward when those are removed. One end is riveted to the bow and the other end, with one hole, screws to the anchor point on behind the rain rail and soft top.

here's a good DIY.

Here's the pic from the DIY with that strap. The blue plastic is the trunk tray. The black metal on top of it is the part that holds the rain rail down
