The vid i made wasn't as dark, but YouTube seemed to make it darker. Oh well, make out what you can, question is simple. Is it time for new straps?

I saw it, i just don't know if it's time to replace. I don't know how the tension is supposed to be.

 

How old is the car? When lowering the top and the middle bar does not fold down, then the straps are too weak. One thing a friend does all the time, I do this now too, is when lowering the top, help push down on the bar.

 

Car is an 04. Soft top is making a good bit of noise (I think it is out of alignment as well, as the latches don't seem to do anything, the lifting mechanism gets it too close), but I'm trying to eliminate problems one by one.

 

I made some replacements, my car is a 2005 and they were getting a bit limp.
