Found a nice diner anyway and gave up trying to hail a taxi to get back to the hotel, so gingerly made our way back, since the rain had eased off. Wish it was snow! Now nice and warm inside for the night.
Still love Montreal.

No new snow for Christmas, but the left over from last week kept the grass covered until this morning. Driveway is finally down to black top.

Emil, How much snow do you have on the ground now? (Cm. or in.) Have you had to shovel off your roof yet, like you did several years ago?

Did'nt shovel the roof yet,but may have to do it,if it keeps on like that...some of my neighbors, already did...
Probably already have around 3 - 4 feet of snow on the ground.

Yep, tomorrow night we get a dusting of snow but farther north there will be more (NJ where the +1 is will see 1-3"). And for many, very cold the next few days. Here in the 30s, with 20s/teens at night.

Just another day in paradise. Or maybe just ice.

Big difference between Quebec City and Montreal, n'est pas? We drove up to Trois-Rivières on Christmas Day and noticed the difference that 150km trip made in the amount of snow on the ground. Returning to Montreal turned into quite an ordeal, as the traffic was horrendous on the Autoroute as we approached the city. Our GPS rerouted us way out into the country to avoid the back-up (which was nice), but it still took forever to return to our hotel. We would never have made it to Quebec City and return if we had tried!
