Anyone have one? how low is your s2000? any issues at all? tempted to get one but a little unsure it's low enough to fit under my car, and worth the hassle to make it fit vs using a jack.

 

My father in law has one of these. If someone doesn't confirm first I'll do a test with my stock height S2000 when I pull it from storage this weekend. Based on previous use I'd be willing to bet it would work at that height as I lifted my miata on it, which had a pinch weld height of around 4.5-5" which i think is around the same as a stock S2000.

 

 

Easy enough to drive up on these (patent pending) ramps and slide the "jack" under the car. Email me for licensing fees.

That video clearly shows the current BL-5000SLX as being usable for an s2000 but I'm surprised to see it actually fits between the front and rear tires. Though that video shows a 2001 with stock 16" wheels. I have 17" Enkei PF01 wheels.

My measurements had the BL-5000SLX (72.5" when laying flat) being just slightly too long to fit with my 17" wheels.

But QuickJack has a revised BL-5000SLX that is coming out early June that was tweaked to support the new Porsches (which have a shorter wheelbase). The revised BL-5000SLX length when laying flat will be 70", it just so happens that this new model will be perfect for an s2000 with larger aftermarket wheels.

 

16" versus 17" wheels shouldn't matter, tire diameter should be the same. That said, I didn't buy the BL-5000SLX for the same reason, I thought it would be too long. I went with a mid-rise scissor lift instead. Like the higher lifting capability, but you need a dedicated bay for the lift.

 

Ah, good point, even though the wheel diameter is increasing the sidewall on the tire is reduced to compensate. So that tells me I can pull the trigger on the current BL-5000SLX without concern!

 

BTW, which mid-rise scissor lift do you have? I thought I'd prefer the quickjack because it gives you full access to the undercarriage (whereas a scissor lift impedes access to areas toward the center of the chassis).

 

I bought the BL-5000SLX about a year ago. It works great on my 2002. It has two height levels. At the highest there is enough room to get under the car on a creeper and work. At the lower level its perfect for doing other work on the car. I did not have to use the wood blocks but I will admit it would make it easier to place under the car. They also fit under a BMW Z4.
Very nice people to work with. There was a problem with the hydraulic pump and they sent me a replacement straight away.
It is heavy but there are rollers on one end. I don't know how the guy is holding both in their sales images.
Would not hesitate to recommend.

 

I have the 3500. Used it on my S2000 and a number of others. Unless the car is really slammed it slides right under with no issues. I love it. Makes working on the car so much easier. Not more dealing with jack stands or jacking the car up and down. I like there there is nothing that goes across like some of the ones pictured above. Easier to access things under the car. We just used it this weekend to replace diff mounts on an S2000. Not sure why you would need the 5000 unless you have another car that would require that weight.
