We are in 4-8 range, depending on when the snow changes over. MANY places closed today. Banks included. Blizzard warnings are up. Rick is off today, I'm at work hoping for early dismissal, though I don't expect our area to be hard hit compared to others. Boston still in the 8-12 and Jerry/Bolton is one the "lucky" ones with more than a foot of snow expected in his area.

Updated prediction is for 12"-20". All the schools are closed today. Governor has declared a state of emergency...and here I am at work. Drive home will be a disaster. Will have to ram my car into the end of the driveway and hoof it 500' through a foot of snow to get the snowblower. Can't convince my wife to move.

Got maybe 2-3" here. Some slushy ice which will refreeze tonight. Cold the next two days, then we finally go back up in the spring temperature direction. Not feeling good about the fate of the cherry blossoms.

it's truly coming down in earnest now, visibility pretty crappy.
I think everyone is networked in working from home and every kid home from school is watching netflix.
cable modems ultimately share bandwidth and it's slooooooow.

Hmm I didn't know my little weather station had a severe storm alert, it beeps and flashes.
Barometer has dropped about an inch in the past 24 hours and is still falling. gonna see really deep low pressure before it's over.

Change over to rain happened before noon, just after 11:00 or so. We had a few inches of snow, now we have big puddles and slush. For anyone who experienced the blizzard of '76 or any blizzard, you know you have to heed warnings. MANY people were stuck on the roadsides, cars abandoned, people didn't make it home. My sister was stuck in RI for 3-4 days. There are some areas of MA that are getting a healthy dose of snow, BUT, by last night our area was already predicted to only get 4-8 or 6-9 inches of snow, so I am surprised that so many places were closed today. I guess the decision was made based on forecasts from earlier in the day yesterday. Better safe than sorry I suppose. "Subway" was closed, so no relatively healthy lunch for me. I ate at McD's.
