Default 1st hand rear tire size experience

HERE IS MY STORY SO OTHERS MAY BENEFIT

I know this has been discussed before but I feel it is worth another look since I've experienced the whole "rear tire size scenario".

A month or two ago it was time to replace my OEM rears. Since I deal with a boatload of rain here in FL I decided to try the S03. I bought two 225/50/16s, had them installed and went for a drive. What happened to my car!!?? It's rear end floats all over the highway and feels genuinely unsafe. After doing more research here i came to find out that the OEM 225s are more like 245s. I thought fine, I'll lower the rear air pressure and deal with my mistake.

Fast forward to today. I blew out one of the new 225 S03s so I decided to use that as an excuse to get two new 245/45/16 SO3s. What a difference. The car is very near what it was from the factory and it's better in the rain.

Moral of the story? Yes, without a doubt, if you have OEM wheels and want to replace the rear OEMs with a different tire get 245/45/16s not 225/50/16s. This holds true if going to the SO3, I imagine other tires may vary.

You should have called me in the first place. I could have saved you some time and effort. I hope the 245/45R16 works out for you.
If I can help in the future let me know.
Thank you
