Are tires hard to find?
Hey guys,
To state the known, oem sizes are 205/55/16 Front and 225/50/16 Rear on the AP1.
But then the actual oem rear size is a 245/45/16 Rear, as it states in another thread.
Is that working out for most people?
Just to note, I have a 255/40/17 that I referenced with and it's almost as wide as the oem 225 rear, the difference is negligable. So i can see why it might not actually be a 225.
Well, after searching for the 205/55/16 Fronts on Tire rack, I get a few nice tire choices including the well known Star Specs. But when I input 245/45/16 I get nothing. I used that "customized" tire rack portal for s2000's, but it offers the 225/50/16 rear. If i got a 225, it would supposedly be not as wide as the oem 225 right?
Please help me out, I am looking at what my choices are, but so far I don't get any choices for the rear....
This rear 225 thing is confusing.

IGNORE the stickie. Shoulda gone away a long time ago...
The importance of tread width dimension is greatly overstated, particularly for street use, *and* there are hardly any 245/45-16 street tires in existence anyway, none that are best in class.
You don't need 245/45-16. 225/50-16 is just fine. Star Specs are going to give you about the best grip/$$$ out there.
No worries.

I was trying to get tires for stock class in the s2k challenge, on the stock wheels.
I guess 225 is ok. I just wanted to make sure i got same as stock or better, without kicking me into street class.
