Engine upgrades for 650ish whp?
Hello Everyone,
Unfortunately my good friend passed away and I inherited his AP2. Along with it came a complete (uninstalled) Full Race borg warner 7670 turbo kit. I'm looking forward to building it in his honor but could use some guidance. The engine has 160k miles so I pulled it and am about to send it to a machine shop for inspection. I'm new to the F22c and not sure what they can handle. I asked Full Race and they recommended the following but I see they sell these products so I suspect biases.
*JE Pistons
*Manley Rods
*Ferrea Valves
Here are some builds I've found in my research that are similar but the supporting mods are all over the place. Hard to judge what is overkill.
Passmans build
YamahaSHO build
Misc 7670 builds thread
Jin_SK Build
I'm also considering these additional upgrades.
Couple pictures of the car & kit.

- AEM Infinity (Seems to be the most common engine management)
- ID1300 injectors (The kit came with 1000s but I've read that they fall out in the 550 range. 2000's have rough idle)
- Fuel pump (Kit comes with walbro 255)
- Wiring harness (Stock harness is in rough shape. I see rywire & wireworx are common but jesus they are expensive. Anything comparable?)
Couple pictures of the car & kit.

I would spend the extra for a bigger pump (in comparison maybe $30 extra bucks) for a 300-450lph pump.
u get what u pay for with cheap wire harnesses (all ill say about that)
as far as machine shops and engine builds imo (whats your budget, trust, and how much do you rely on the vehicle) also i can see your "concern" with mileage... but lol have you done a check up on it? Never know... if compression is good id give it a good sprint and keep up on the maintenance, she might surprise ya  ...i see u already pulled it though.
looks like a good start though!

Look into ID1700 and a rewire 450 fuel pump. Inlinepro also does top of the line engine building. Any use wire harness will do unless your going for a wire tuck. What year ap2? Does it have a fuel return system?

Thanks for the input so far, keep the recommendations coming. Today I bought:
Ferrea valve guides
Ferrea dual valve & retainer kit
Ferrea valve guides
I'm stuck on which head studs to get though. It's between the FBM H11's or ARP. I get the feeling that ARP studs are fine for 650ish?
Why are you recommending the 1700 over the 1300? Also, do they both support E85? It's a 2005. It does not have a fuel return system yet. Any recommendations?

I think the 1300cc injectors will be fine. I'm on 1200cc injectors and am at 620hp on E85 at ~ base fuel pressure and not maxing my injectors out yet (I do have a big fuel system though)
