A friend was replacing the intake valve retainers in my F20 and saw some pretty weird pitting on the tip of the valve stem.
I'm wondering if anyone has seen this before and what it means? Is it just a matter of time before the engine grenades itself if I dont get the valves replaced?
Here are some pics. Pitted stem tip on Cyl2:
Non pitted stem tip on same cylinder:
Roller doesnt seem in terrible shape, though not great. A bit scratched up.
What do you guys think could have caused this? Couldn't find much on the forum about it. And what do yall suggest I do?
