Default Avatar update unsuccessful

When I am attempting to update my Avatar Photo, I keep getting an error message that the file format is unsupported. The Image is a JPEG and should work. I've tried renaming it from .jpeg to .jpg to see if that changes anything, but I still receive the error message.

Any thoughts why?

Is the size within the limit as set by S2KI?

Auto size is set to on, so I can't imagine it would make a huge difference.

I can try resizing and see what happens.

Possibly - I had it sized down and now it accepted the changes.

It may be useful to incorporate a guideline on the avatar update page as to what the pixel and file size limitations are, in addition to the supported file types. This would save some headaches in the future.

There is a good FAQ topic here...

Again, I think the information on avatar limitations should be listed on the Edit Avatar Settings page.

The FAQs did not come up in my search on avatars, nor are the limitations listed in the help section.

The FAQ is a good area for the first-time forum user, but other members who have been on here a while will not remember off the top of their heads what the size limitations are.

Other forums I frequent have this information listed on the page where you change your avatar, so you know what your limitations are. In addition, an error message other than "you are not allowed to upload that type of file" is misleading. An error stating the image is too large (either in pixel count or file size) would be more helpful.

Just some suggestions.
