Well I did a quick check of the forum config and it was weird (not normal). I fixed it but it didn't help. I'll look tomorrow. People are going to flame all my replies

I don't think so. I think is has something to do with the query that fetches contributed topics.

Got it!

It was the way the forum was setup. I normalized it completely and I now have topics coming up.
