This forum is far better than any other car forum on the web, and that is because more than any other car, the S2000 has owners that are true enthusiasts for driving. Not just going fast in a straight line, not just looking good. People on this forum care about their cars more than owners of other cars do. The site is a great resource of info, and that is its downfall: all the questions have already been answered.

Ironic that anyone in this post who didn't actually pay to become a member has the balls to come in and complain.

Most of us started out as guests, and I believe most of us initially became members because of the benefits we first received as guests. Since this isn't a members-only forum guests are allowed to participate. Whether I agree with them or not, in a thread of this nature they have a right to express their opinions.

Most of us that have elected to pay money to become members have benefitted in one or more ways from S2kI, and we keep paying the money because we like the place. I really wouldn't expect someone who didn't like the place enough to voluntarily pay for membership to feel the same way about it that we do.

Bottom line; You can't please all of the people all of the time.
(And that's OK. )

All this is true but sometime you just need to say:

That's seriously funny, but it makes me fell like I'm laughing at a blind man who is falling down a flight of stairs.

We were all NOOBs at one time or another.

This site is awesome. I've found parts for my car and learned all sorts of stuff from this site.

I'm an old fart (47) and I for one love the advice I get from some of the younger members that tend have more enthusiasm for the car than some of the old timers. Becoming a member was the best return on a $20 investment I've made in a long time.

Funny, I'm a guest, but a member somewhere else...I'm in my early 30's, love my car...and have read some great things about our car here! I have probably saved over $1000 from either stuff I would have needed a dealer for or bought aftermarket products I wouldn't have liked...what keeps me from being a member, you might ask? Car clubs should be NON-PROFIT...period.

Sorry if anyone is offended, but I think it is highly selfish for someone to make a living out of our passion...very selfish. That's why I chose to join a club that is NON-PROFIT.

Great stuff here, I won't argue that fact. but with all the other information out there I personally chose to financially support a club that will not reap the rewards of my love for a car and not give back to its members...has anyone from s2ki ever had the 'profiteer' buy them dinner...not as a friend...but because they were a member (on a club/business(since this is for profit) event?)? I'm sure I'm asking myself to be bumped from the site, but I really just browse here...and I use different IP filters, so regardless I'll enjoy reading posts, weather it is laughing at the "street racing" posts (unless it's about someone dieing, like what happened the other day in my part of town) to reading the vintage posts...which as a 33 year old I can relate to more than any other category on this form...

Well, shit, sorry for the long post, I just felt the need to let anyone here know why I will never become a member, simply put, car clubs should be and always be NON-PROFIT...sorry if anyone takes offense to that, but if so, tough...that

Be sure to check out the Vintage Owners Forum. Anyone can post an everyone is welcome there, but to get the Vintage Owners badge in your signature you have to be an S2000 owner of at least 40 years of age. That's what The Vintage means, the person, not the car.
Some of us don't care to advertise that we're over 40. We just hope to drown out the childish noise in those threads that really count.

[Wait -- did I say "us"? Uh, not what I meant...]

Which everyone makes, young or old.

It's also important to point it out to the poster, Some are not always aware of it cause it isn't the intention (some does it intentionally). Do it thru PM's though, best way to handle IMO.

Also, how about we stop the name calling. If there's a thread or post that you can't be civil for discussion, stay away from it.
