has s2ki gone downhill?
This is a good place. It is full of other car people, like myself. I have learned alot since coming here. I continue to learn and contribute and enjoy doing that.
I have been a carguy all my life, especially roadsters, this place has it's share of them to mingle with, some who know more than I and are willing to share and others who want to just take, this is the internet.
I have learned general information about Honda S2000s, saved money, found out how to make my car car the way I want it, and met some interesting carnuts here.
This site is vibrant, every changing in content, and has much to offer for a variety of tastes, to a variety of members, on a variety of topics.
I have only gained since coming here, before I bought my Honda.
Downhill, I don't think so.

The site itself has gone downhill. Awhile ago there was supposed to be a whole revamp in the site and yadda yadda yadda. The site runs very slow and crashes more often than others.
With the amount of members, it should be able to have better software.

i'm still a newbie to this site and i find loads and loads of useful information here... as a matter of fact, the other day someone gave me a downloadable version of an ap1 manual. super useful for tinkering with my car, and it otherwise would have caused me 40 bucks to buy it from a store. i dont think s2ki is a crappy forum site, it just pisses me off when stupid ppl drive away helpful ppl... like xviper...
Downhill? No way, other than loosing some of the biggest contributors to the FAQ and DIY areas of the website, things are going good. The local forums still provide new friendships with others with the same love of their car and the great guides that were written quite a while ago are still there to be read.
We all know the help "feature" doesn't work the best all the time, so why flame a noob who just got his car for asking questions like what are the best CAI's for you buck? Especially since there is a good chance that without asking we may all miss out on a discussion that has evolved since the last time it was hot, whether by new parts that have come out or by people who have thought of something new to share.
And of course with the prices dropping we can always look forward to Johnny Tran and his Honda 2000 coming to town soon!

I didn't come close to reading all the post on this topic. I think S2ki is a great car fourm and XVipers experience is missed, but he didn't know everything. I think he just had more time than a lot of people. As one of the younger members both in age and to the site I know I've had my share of giving bad advice but so much of learning. I've became friends with many of you and honestly can say I have no problems with anyone on this board.
I agree with whoever said "long live S2ki" on the first page.

looks like i'm not the only young one... but from my limited experience, everytime i asked a question xviper was the first one to answer and give a good response. sure he might have been an asshole bout it but its a good response that fixes my problem nonetheless. i really hope that there would be more helpful ppl around in this forum in the future instead of ppl that drive them away.
