But back on topic... I too think that S2ki has gone downhill. Certainly forums such as S2ki evolve with time. Certainly new members show up and old members (often experts) leave, but that's just like life, isn't it?

But the way I think S2ki has degraded, as been the usefulness of the site. We still have many of the FAQs, and DIYs, but many newbies tend to skip over those and the search function to ask already addressed and often stupid question. Even more bothersome, when a decent question IS asked, more often than not, people without the knowledge step in with silly answers and unwarranted advice, filling the forum with more useless dribble.

It's too bad, but that's just the way it is. I still come here, I still learn some new things about the car, and I still try to contribute when I happen to have some relevant info. It's just harder now, having to wade through the crap. It's unfortunate, but it's still one of the better sites around.

There were a few difficult personalities that thought they knew everything, and any differing opinion was wrong and any experiences you've had a lies... Well, there's bound to be a few users like that in a pool of 100's users...

The site has gone down hill for sure. The price of car has gone down so any knucklehead highschooler can own an S2000, and too many Videos have associated the car in a negative way.

I miss the more hardcore technical discussions and learning something new, but with 4 years of owning my car and year or two I spent on this forum before I bought my car, I feel like there's little learn new at this point.

No offense to anyone reading, but asking Q's like how to downshift from 5th shouldn't even be entertained on this forum. Go to Driver's Ed first and save us from a potential accident...

can't believe this is still going on. seems like many of us have the zeal to improve the site. let's hope it shines through with some more kindness, understanding, tolerance, willingness for unorthodox thoughts, patience and helpfulness.

i unfortunately went through quite a bit of higher education and came to the realization that proper grammer, idiosyncratic rules like punctuation and capitalization were mostly developed for rich wealthy people to raise themselves over those who were less fortunate and could not afford an education. esp the use of "big" words that mean almost the same thing as simpler words.

therefore, i use only the minimal amount of "properness" to get the point across. besides, i have weak pinkies

Believe me, my kids are better than I was, and I'm glad they're not telling me if that's not true. I would have hated to be my dad.

I may be of a younger generation, but I really don't see any threads getting too out of control. Of course on any forum, there will be the resident asshole, but I don't think it should effect the rest of us. I've visited a bunch of forums, and S2ki, has been very .... sophisticated for an online bulletin board. I am sad to see Xviper go, but I don't really take things personally. If someone wants to be that way, so be it. If someone wants to ask stupid questions, I have my right to laugh and ignore the person. On other forums, I've seen people that are older that have a reputation of being a troll, at least older than the party usually accused of being a troll. It is not always the younger guys.
I enjoy S2ki, and I didn't EVER think I would pay to read a forum. Hell I didn't have to pay, I just really like this community and decided to support it.

I bought my S2000 about five years ago because I liked the way it looked. After discovering S2ki, I came to the understanding that the car didn't just look good, but it was actually quite a technological feat of engineering.

Then I discovered that there were a whole bunch of people that would treat me like family just because I had the same car as them. I have been invited to meets around North America and have always been made to feel welcome. If I am visiting a new place, the first place I trust to find reliable information is this community.

Over time, I have reciprocated the generosity of others by opening my home to people that I had only known in the virtual world of the Internet (fellow s2ki members). This has perhaps been the most rewarding aspect of being a member. I have had the privilege of meeting and becoming friends with so many people from around the World.

I am still made to appreciate the car, I still feel welcome when I visit other members, and I still meet new people through this site. Is S2ki going down hill??? Not by my measures!
