I appreciate it must be pretty galling to put a lot of work into something like this and then get what seems like nothing but flak in return.

I actually like the two tone grey, it's far more restful than white glaring areas. The restoration of avatars and sigs throughout the thread have restored what was sadly lacking IMHO .... colour! It looks much better already. I also think the large thread title is great!

I think it's been well demonstrated that people do care about this site which is the main thing. The fact that 'the management' are prepared to listen to and respond to the members' views only augers well for the future. I'm sure most of us appreciate that you guys ARE working hard to improve the site!... Thank you!

 

That seems a little uncalled for.

For what it's worth, I liked the old site better but I certainly appreciate all that must have gone into the changes. Since I can barely figure out how to turn on my computer every day, I can't begin to think of what went into this.

Let's give these guys a break and give them some constructive criticism instead of simply saying that things suck.

 

I prefer red. I know that grey/silver is the most popular color, but what about those of us with red cars. I see blue, black, white, yellow in the color scheme. Can you make the stars on the thread ratings RED ?

 

Over all, I don't really like the new look. Older one was MUCH better.

The posts being cut off has obviously been addressed.
I don't like the grey color scheme. Looks a bit gloomy and gives me a bit of a headache.
Site seems a bit harder to navigate.
I'd rather see # of posts then the average.

 

Well, that was certainly constructive. How about what you don't like? How about constructive suggestions for things to improve it. Come on, folks -- This is NOT the way to make it better.

 

Heh...I'm not the one surfing around with the lights out though. Maybe you should try sunglasses if it's too bright?

 

The aesthetic changes to the site are pretty nice. The only thing that's bad right now is the performance. It seems to load really slow. I know the site was down for a bit today, and was hoping the performance would get better.

 

We're still tracking down the bottle neck.

Performance pick up soon as we locate more of the bugs. Right now we're runing VERY high load averages.

We figures slow was better than none

 

I hope you don't do that whenever you find a slow site, [Mr. T]I pity da foo who does dat![/Mr. T]

For future reference, deleting local files won't fix server-side latency issues.

I love this site but I now realize just how easy the old site was to get around. I read most of teh posts and wanted to pass along my constructive list of comments.

1. We liked the old color scheme in shades of blue. You mention that one color does not please all but we were all happy with the old color scheme so bring it back.

2. What do all you guys have 21 inch monitors? Even on my 19" I minimize the site to about 800x 600 and run other things on the desktop. You absolutely have to limit the width of the site to 760 pixels, I am not kidding. If you want it this wide put the wasted space on the right side

Fix these two things and you will solve 90% of the complaints. Otherwise I think the site works, a bit slow but hey were all complaining at once. !!!
