That the moderator hasn't gotten to this yet is forgivable. What is completely offensive is that 1.) someone (loki) thought this was acceptable material for this site, and 2.) others thought this was humorous and as much as endorsed it.

I have taken unbelievable flak already in the past for speaking out on this very topic, on this site even, but I will take it again if it makes a difference. I have some very big problems with the fact that anyone would think that this was humorous or acceptable in any way. There are people worldwide who work endless, selfless hours to try to stop animal cruelty and to fix the damage done to animals who fall prey to the disgusting, sick individuals who find power and gratification by abusing and torturing trusting, helpless animals. Being one of the people who fight this behavior tirelessly, I find the post in question horrifying to find amongst people who are otherwise bright, caring, educated people. The remark has been made to me that we have one of the most enlightened, mature car enthusiast sites on the web, but that post would make anyone wonder if that was a correct assessment after all.

Repeated studies have shown that some of the sickest criminal minds in American history got their start by abusing animals, progressing then to child abuse and then on to torture and murder. While I doubt that there are any murderers or serial killers here on this board, is the doubt you would place into others' minds about your ability to behave with dignity and humanity worth a sick, tasteless joke?

I have asked before, but I will ask again that the administration and moderators take an active position in not accepting threads of this nature on S2Ko. I am clearly not alone in finding this kind of material deeply offensive, and I think it would speak well of S2Ko to just not allow it. When in doubt, it's out...

Thanks.

I have to agree with Sondra, moderation of this board has become a bit spotty. When this board came on line, there was a bit of cordiality that seems to have disappeared. We have a number of new members in the past few months and sensitivity to others seems to be nearly non-existant.
It is s free and open forum, but as in any community we need to consider others.
But that's just my opinion.

The material in question is not acceptable. It has been removed to the best of my knowledge.

cthree, thank you for the attention to this. While some other moderators and members think it's funny and nonoffensive, I've had the displeasure of having seen what it looks like to see a cat, stuffed into a mailbox on a hot summer day, found dead. The idea of torturing an animal, even as a joke, isn't funny to me and apparently more than a few other people on this board.

I appreciate your sensitivity to those of us who are offended by these kinds of posts.
