When a thread is moved, and you click the link and get an error, does that mean the thread has been moved and later deleted? If not, how do we know where the thread has moved to?

It probably means the thread was removed and the link is stale. If it was moved to another forum the link will still be valid. We remove threads by moving them to a special forum called the "Dumpster" that only the mods can access.
