Default S2Ki in needs of a facelift. . .

Hello everyone,

I am someone what new to S2ki but I feel that it needs a facelift. . .primarily in the forums/sub-forums area. We need better categories. Here are a few suggestions I have;

Engine
-Basic Performance
-Turbo
-Supercharger
-All Motor
-Nitrous
-ECU & Tuning
-Transmission/Drivetrain
_____________________
Exterior Styling
-Wheels & Suspension
-Aero
-Lighting
____________________
Interior
____________________
Do It Yourself/Walkthrough
____________________
Audio
____________________
Marketplace
-For Sale
-Want to Trade
-Want to Buy
-Testing Waters
_____________________

I used ClubRSX as a guide line. This is just a rough idea. . .What do you all think?

We seem to have trouble getting people to post in the proper forum now. If you expand the numbers of forums, it'll just get worse. It would just make more work for moderators. If you could guaranty that people would find a clue and post stuff where they belong, this would be a good idea. As history would show, you would just have more threads posted in more wrong forums.

I think a decent search facility would be of the utmost benefit, far greater than any other change or modification. The value of a huge repository of information, such as s2ki, is somewhat diminished without it.

While this is true, and I agree. . I am not necessarily saying more forums. Just re-evaluate the names of the current forums perhaps.

Most people post in the wrong forums because they don't know where to put they're thread. If catagories were diverse it would be easier to find information in the long run.

Example:
Under The Hood
Mechanically related discussions about the S2000.

This is way to broad. Are we talking Turbo, Supercharged? or what. This leaves the catagory open for anything from How to re-build a motor to how you feel on nitrous.

This could also fix the problem with so many Dead threads. The forums are so large right now that if someone doesn't respond to your thread within the first 12-24 hours it is bumped to the 2nd page or either further. Many people do not go that far back in pages.

It just seems to me S2ki needs more organization. just my opinion though

I must agree on that. Searching on this forum is about like going to Google and searching.

Well, the forum must be pleasing to a few folks. There are nearly 50k members and I have yet to sign on at any time of day or night that there aren't about 500 people logged in. If you use MyS2K, then if you've posted to a thread any new responses will be immediately apparent. Its a BIG board and there will always be things that each of us would like to have, I just think its probably easier said than done.

Why don't you BUY A MEMBERSHIP first? Perhaps then, your suggestions might be taken a little more seriously?

No need for attitude. I am not bashing S2K in anyway! I am simply trying to help. I spoke with a few other members and they seem to feel the same way so I wanted to see how many others out there thought it might be a good idea to chance the organization a little.

As for buying a membership, I would if it were not free to use for others. I have a hard time paying for something else that everyone else is getting for free. I think it should either be mandatory to buy a membership or you cannot post.

Once again though, I am in no way bashing/hating/flaming on S2kI. I love this place. Just trying to voice my opinion and the opinion of a few others.

What a strange attitude to buying membership.

I think I'm only going to start reading posts from paying members and put everyone else on ignore.
