Default Thread from 4sale forum...

It was first locked and then moved to oblivion by Darkknight.

Can someone please re-read it with no bias? Can someone please judge as to why it was moved to out of sight? What rules were broken? There were no nude pics posted, there was no talk of politics...in fact there was no slamming either.

I posted fact, I posted an apology for the fact that others took this as reason to slam the seller's reputation.

The main thing in that thread was information about responsibility to buyers and sellers about going into a legally binding contract with someone on this site. There was some very constructive criticism on that thread that people on this site would learn alot from.

If and when you read the thread, please don't assume my demeanor in my posts as aggressive, with a chip on my shoulder, or in any type of anger.....none of that was there. All my posts were as a matter of fact, as is this one.

Please if you feel as it was wrongly put into oblivion, please re-instate it somewhere more appropriate. Thank you.

Urmil

Its called "slander" and it not allowed.

You really need to move on from this. It was an auction. Just like it says in the thread.

It's not any simpler than this to show ignorance:

WHAT IS "SLANDER"?

Slander is a spoken defamation.

WHAT IS "DEFAMATION"?
Defamation, sometimes called "defamation of character", is spoken or written words that falsely and negatively reflect on a living person's reputation.

If a person or the news media says or writes something about you that is understood to lower your reputation, or that keeps people from associating with you, defamation has occurred. Slander and libel are two forms of defamation.
========================================

To show defamation, you'd have to re-instate that thread to show where I attacked his character. I commented solely on his action of double-dealing.

I need to "move-on". I'm only replying to you. There'd be nothing to reply to if you didn't keep jabbing, would there?

I wouldn't have to deal with this crap if the kid going to law school wasn't hell bent on wasting time on this and could just move on like everyone else has.

You did slander his name and in a public forum. I will not re-instate that thread to make my point. However I will post this for your reading pleasure but you know this already because you wrote it:

"Bad deals, scams, and deadbeats have been very prevalent on this board very recently. Now I wanted to add, double-dealing to the list."

You keep right on going to law school. Good luck with it....

At the end of the day, none of that matters. If the moderators deem it inappropriate for the site then they remove it. Period.

Here is a posting I made in Urmil's dumpster thread:

"I think he locked that thread because it was just going back and forth, even after Jeff made his offer to you to try to resolve the sitch. The same points kept getting made over and over with no end in sight. You were not going to back down and Mike was not going to apologize. What to do???
End it...

EDIT: But I'm not sure I agree with the decision to move the thread to the dumpster. Lots of controversial/confrontational threads are out here. Some of them in my forum. They just float to the bottom, but remain for those who want to read them."

AE is right, however. If the Mod deems it inappropriate, s/he has the right to lock/remove it. It's a judgment call. I think you just need to let this one go...

My argument with darkknight has been just this. If he found it in his judgement that the thread was going no where, why didn't he just lock it?

I was ok with that.

It seems to me that keeping a thread of "feedback" of someone's experiences would help to either inform others on the board of the person selling or of the one person buying.

If by the opinion of the general public the seller was in the wrong, the seller's reputation suffers. If by their opinin, the buyer was wrong (albeit in my tact, my perceptionns, or whatever), the buyer's reputation suffers. I risk no one selling to me in the future.

It seems as a likely risk from me to post my experiences just as well.

Time to lock this thread down too - Luder just isn't going to back down on anything, and neither of these threads have gone anywhere
