To answer your question, new members have some restrictions on their account until they've become established. For example, new members also don't have immediate access to PMs. This is common as other community-based sites like S2KI generally have their own restrictions and policies. These restrictions are largely in place to protect the community from spammers, scammers, and other abuse that can occur from new accounts. Unfortunately, this is part of the internet.

As you continue to use the site for it's intended purpose, your account will automatically be upgraded with more access and permissions.
