Just learned today,that here in Canada,at 75 years old,you cannot renew yor DL without a medical,and a driving test...
What about you,in the U.S.???

That is not the case here in Ohio, but I don't know about other states.

I would not like that, but I do think it is a good idea.

(We just have to pass a vision test in Ohio.)

You need to pass a vision in NY. If you can't make it to DMV your doctor can certify you.
It was a sad day for me a couple of years ago when I had to tell my father he can't drive anymore. He's a big car guy.
He was 91 when I told him that.
I'll visit him at his home later this weekend. If he had it his way he would drive over to see me..

This data is from 2012 but quick search didn't turn up anything more current.

Only one or two require a medical at high ages and a few more need a vision check. Pretty sure Ohio requires everyone to pass a vision check on license renewal.

I'm not sure you have to pass the vision test. I was next to someone last week who said she could only see one of the letters and they passed her!

I guess you can always go back to driving dog sled from Oct to May and a riding lawnmower for June to Sept.
