Default Breaking in 4.77

Ok i am getting my car back from the shop tomorrow and was just wondering about the break in.

1. 10 miles and let cool for 30 mins (X3)
2. Take it easy for the first 500 or 1000 miles.

now my question is i have to make a road trip right when i pick up my car from the shop. After i do the 30 min cool down for the last heat cycle is it ok to drive for 2.5 hours? or do i need to let it cool down over night after the 3rd heat cycle

1. Drive it 10 miles. Do not get on it at all. Let is sit for at least 12 hours or over night.

2. Take it easy for the first 500 miles. After 200 miles, you can start driving it harder and harder per 100 miles. After 500, your rear end is broken in.

[QUOTE=S2KPUDDYDAD,Oct 10 2008, 01:55 PM]Break in:

Use a good 80/90W or 90w GL-5 gear oil.
Drive the car civil for 10 miles then park it, let cool down for 12 hours or over night.

I did the three heat cycles and then did the diff fluid change after that. I pretty much drove it regular right after that. Prolly no hard shifts for the first hundred or two miles but def vtec'd plenty. Hard not to LOL. No noises or anything 10-15k miles later.
