Well, my dissatisfied experience is with a sponsor, Partshelper and not a member and this relates to my purchase of an Ings+1 rear bumper and sideskirts. I dealt with Brian and Greg, both nice guys but overall I'm dissatisfied with the customer service and purchase.
When purchasing my items they were very responsive. In addition to purchasing parts, I asked them about the fitment and paint job. Brian indicated they outsource it to a shop that does great work, citing example of another s2k member that just had a hardtop painted. So I decided to go with their recommendation. They initially told me a certain date to pickup my car. Late that day I was told the car wasn't ready and was told another date to pick it up. No biggie. On that day I started driving there. Halfway there I decided to call to tell them I was coming only to be told it wasn't ready again. I was somewhat upset as I wish they called me as I had to leave work early. When I finally get the car back a couple days later the fitment of my sideskirts was bad and the paint job for the rear bumper was pretty bad. If you stared at it there was a wavy look to it. Well I commented on this while we inspected the car, but was told they couldn't do anything that day and was told I shouldn't leave the car there at their shop. This upset me a little as it was difficult for me with my work schedule to take the car to them in addition to living and working somewhat far away. Brian consulted with Greg, who requested I take the car back to them to inspect. So I had to take time off from work again to head out to them. Greg inspected the car, agreed it should be repainted and to come back again. When I got my car back the second time, they improved the fitment of the sideskirts, which didn't rub against my door any further, but the problem was still the rear. My Ings is painted white and black and when they repainted the white part, which was wavy looking, they taped the black part. When removing the tape they peel off paint all along, so I have paint chips across the bumper. I commented this to Greg. When I took the car home again and really inspected it, I saw a 1-inch vertical crack near my license plate. When I inspected it at the partshelper store I was looking along the bumper portion and didn't focus on the area around the license plate. I called Greg that night and left a message as well as email Brian. I didn't receive any response for a week. I called their store again and spoke with Greg who said he's discussing this with his paint guy and asked me for pics. I told him the crack appeared to be under the clear coat, which he indicated if that were the case it's the paint guys fault. I emailed him the pic and since then haven't heard back. This was on approximately June 4, 2008. It's now been 3 weeks and I'm pretty much resigned that it's not going to get resolved. Overall it's been near 2 months and driving over 200 miles back and forth to try and fix the problems.
Again, I think they are nice guys, but overall I'm dissatisfied with my purchase and will take my business elsewhere.
