AP1 Burning Oil
Hey guys im having a big problem. I just changed the oil on my car. Ive driven the car about 60 miles since the oil change a few months ago. i used Royal Purple and a Fram oil filter. Now i decided to check the oil out of boredom and there is almost no oil in the car. I checked the drain plug and there is no oil around the plug. Im losing my mind here trying to figure out where the fack my oil went. There is a slight leakage around the valve cover gasket, but my car has always had that. The motor hasent ran since about 5 months b4 the oil change. If anyone has any help or info that can help me it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

So, are you saying there's no 4.5 quarts of purple goodness under your car as a form of a purple lake? .... that is weird ... hey, maybe a cousin went under there and stole it ... no, seriously, otherwise what in the world can be? this is very weird ....

You should be using 5.5 Quarts. Did you change your oil, start the car, check the oil, then add more if needed? If you are at the bottom of the dip stick then I believe you need to add .5 Quart of oil.

First off, don't use more than 5 quarts of oil. If I remember correctly, the spec is 4.8 or 4.9 quartz. Anything more than 5 quarts is over filling it.
Second, I don't know if it'll make any different, but stop using FRAM oil filter. Use Honda oil filter or a good brand. You can try Purelator or Mobile1 oil filter if you want. Do the oil change again. Wipe off as much oil stain as possible around the gasket. Keep a close eye on the oil. If you're losing oil, its leaking out of somewhere. When it comes to burning oil, even a RX-7 doesn't burn that much.
