Because of hearsay. The same thing that caused people to make statements very similar to Josh when he says that Obama = "The Death of a Nation"

Jim made a good point when he states that the majority of American opinions on politics comes from what they "Hear" and "See" on TV in the form of negative ad campaigns.

The link that was posted by TJR has a black man saying why he is voting for McCain. Because he is a, "Pro Life, Pro 2nd Amendment, Tax Cutting, Conservative Christian." So many of you hope on this because it is a Black Man not voting for Obama.

The irony of his comments is due to the fact that Obama does not wish to change the 2nd Amendment and Obama is for Tax Cuts.

Never has Barack Obama said he would support any type of ban on weapons other than his mention of reinstating the assault weapon ban lifted by the Bush Administration.

If you think Assault Weapons are okay then tell the family of Miami-Dade Officer Jose Somohano that you think it is okay to sell AK-47s; like the one used by Sean Sherwin Labeet that lead to Officer Somohano's death. A gun that was LEGALLY purchased. Fewer people were killed by Assault Weapons while the ban was affect. It works and will work again. Hand Guns, Rifles, Shotguns, etc are fine but Assault Weapons that are used in war like the war we are fighting in Iraq have no right to be available for sale. I own guns, I have gone hunting, and I do not fear my guns will be taken away because he hasn't even mentioned it. (Not to mention the fact that the Supreme Court over ruled a gun ban in DC so we are not to worry)

Barack Obama has clearly stated he is planning on returning the Tax System back to the way it was under Bill Clinton. A time when the US made incredible amount of economic growth. Like I said before NO ONE HERE MAKES MORE THAN $200,000!

It is sad that we gladly pay our taxes to fund two different wars that have resulted in thousands of deaths. We gladly pay our taxes to rebuild Iraq, grow there army, grow there police force, improve there medical system, improve there education system, and when there is mention of raised taxes to allow universal health care, when there is mention of raised taxes to improve OUR schools, when there is mention of raised taxes to better OUR economy by taxing the rich a little more, like Clinton did, than they pay now all of you are up in arms.

Now I normally don't play the race card but lets be honest about the situation. Many people I have spoken to, and I encounter a lot more people in my day then most people do here, have stated they won't vote for him because 1) He is black 2) He is Arab and 3) He is Socialist.

For the first one, and many of you cubans know how racist some of the elder cubans can be, there is not much we can do to over come a racist outlook. For the second one there is nothing we can do to over come stupidity to think the man is Arab. Finally the idea, as Josh stated, that he is a Socialist. Let me hit that one square on the head.

When a Cuban first comes to this country and flops out of the boat and hits the sandy beach they begin to cry because they have realized a dream to escape Communist Cuba. The next thing they do is call family or friends. Finally after being settled in they ask for government assistance. They get Medicare a SOCIALIST health system run by the government. They get Welfare a SOCIALIST system run by the government. If they don't move into housing with family or friends they get Section 8 housing which is a SOCIALIST housing system run by the government.

They leave a Communist country to come here and take advantage of SOCIALIST systems held by the government and these same people are marching up and down Hialeah saying Obama is the next Fidel Castro. I dont know if it is Irony or Stupidity.

What Obama is probably trying to set up (careful this is a big word) is a Egalitarian Society. This is a society where everyone is treated as equal and have the same social, civil, political, and economical rights as everyone else. Apparently that is a bad thing. Why should we treat people equal? Thank god we live in a class system like they do in India.

Furthermore for whoever had the idea that Obama means bigger government.

Under the Bush Administration Government grew to the biggest size it has ever been in the history of the United States. If you think for one second John McCain is going to start eliminating the Department of Homeland Security and break up the Government Agencies into smaller groups or put them back to the way they were pre-9/11 then you are out of your flipping mind.

McCain only has two real goals. He wants to cut ear-marks and he wants to win they war and bring us home with dignity.

1) Ear Marks are a vital part of the American Political System. They bring in funding for projects that produce jobs in the district they are assigned. Yes some are completely useless but many are meaningful and his attempt to cut them all will result in loss of money for schools, hospitals, retirement homes, community centers, money to build factories to bring in jobs from large companies, etc. Many, if not all of you, don't understand the importance of Ear Marks and only have an opinion on them because you see John McCain bringing up the stupid ones (researching the DNA of Brown Bears for example). He ripped Obama for trying to get 2 million dollars to build a RETIREMENT HOME! God forbid Obama try to get funding to build a retirement home in his Chicago. It would have made money for the construction workers, created jobs for nurses to work at the home, and finally it would have been a place for the poor to go to retire. But as we have seen helping the old and poor is a bad thing because it steals from the rich right?

2) Iraq wants us out. Where is the dignity when the country you came to "liberate" wants you gone? When the people feel it was better under Sadam. (Don't believe me then watch them as the interview Iraqi people.) When they venture outside of the major cities and interview people watch as the Power constantly goes out, watch as they have puddles of raw sewage, watch as they can't go to school because we have yet to rebuild schools in certain towns, and the kids who can't go to the doctor because we blew up the hospital and because it isn't a major city they have yet to rebuild it. We are an occupying force that will leave the country in a worse state than before. Yes they are now free to vote but all the things provided to them, power, clean water, education, health care, etc are now gone. Yea we did them a big favor.


People need to give Obama a chance and stop looking him as a Black Man who is stealing your money to give to poor black people who refuse to get a job.

(Oh yea I made that up and haven't heard anyone actually tell me that to my face. )
