Looking for new or used? For backcountry or open water? If you want to snorkel and scuba, I'm assuming you want something for open water. At that price, you're probably going to have to buy used unless you try something like Angler, Dusky or Key West Boats. Of the three, I would go with Dusky. They come pretty bare but they have a much better hull, are very comfortable for fishing and are pretty nice looking. Other than that, boats are pretty expensive lately. And I wouldn't buy used unless you know about boats and know what you're doing.
I would also recommend you take one of the boating courses that the Coast Guard offers. You learn ALOT from them. Not only about the waters and local laws but also about boats. As a matter of fact, I'd take that class before looking for a boat.
Good luck and hopefully I'll be seeing you in the water soon.

Do a search for 1-800 marine surveyor. What ever vessel you choose to buy, contact the surveyor and ask what kind of history do these types of vessels have. They will tell you the different type of discrepancies people have reported for that type of vessels. You get what you pay for and for 10 g's you're basically in a skiff. For the activities you mentioned you need to spend a little money. A boaters best days are the day you purchase a vessel and the day you sell it. Eveything in between is a money pit. Good Luck they are fun but alote of money to maintain. Be safe and make sure you have the proper equipment. Coast Guard Sector Miami Search and Rescue Controller.

For $10k you'll need to get something used for it to be decent as an offshore platform. My favorite hulls are Mako and Boston Whaler (V-style) for FL waters.
Whatever you do, make sure that you're ready to "sink" a lot of money into the thing. Also, boats use a lot of gas to get where they're going.

Yea you can get a center console for that. Hulls last if they don't have wooden stringers in them. Look for a hull you like, put the money in the motor.
You can probably pick something up around 17 feet with a 85 or 90 that's a couple years old and in good shape. Get a self bailer and a 4 stroke motor if you can.
